Why Brown essay

I know it’s quite late to ask since I applied ED to Brown, but I’d like to know if my approach to the Why Brown essay is acceptable. I did not really address the specific academic programs in Brown but rather explained my passion for Brown in a more emotional way. I talked about how studying in Brown is about finding my American identity (I was born in Cali but raised outside of the country) and how Brown’s liberal spirit (both politically and academically) has been the object of my admiration.

I didn’t really mention any specific programs or professors and what not, but I really approached the essay in an emotion way.

Thanks for any responses and I’m both nervous and excited for next Thursday…

I think this is the best way to approach the “why Brown” essay. Since the school is so unique, and you are only given 200 words, why not talk about why you love the school?

@Southotheclouds I approached it the same way that you did (on an emotional level, because I love Brown). Let’s hope we got it right! ;)

That’s what I did too. I hope it’s okay! I’m applying regular though. let me know what your guys’s results are ?? ?? Good luck!
