Ok, so I was admitted to University of Illinois Urbana Champaign for civil engineering. With the admitted packet, it said to pick housing as soon as possible to get your first choice. However, I choose not to follow the instructions and waited till today to pick housing. What are my chances of getting ISR housing if I picked it today??

Well, you cant travel back in time so I suggest you stop worrying and start acting.

And if you have done it already, I would say that if ISR is a very popular dorm and you’re very late, then your chances probably will have decreased. If not, you may still have a shot.

Like Duygu said, there’s nothing you can do about it now.

To calm your nerves, I’d say you should be okay. Many students won’t be making their final college decisions until the last minute. The fact that you know where you are going puts you a step ahead of a lot of your future classmates who might not pick their housing until May.

Also, even if you don’t get your first choice, you will deal with it. How much time are you actually going to spend in your dorm with classes, work, homework, friends and relationships, research, parties, and extracurriculars? A bed is a bed no matter where it is.
