<p>I am looking for something very simple for daughter's dorm room. A sturdy desk hutch/shelf that can just sit on top of the desk, about 18 inches high, made of wood or steel so it is strong enough to hold her printer (so at least 12 inches deep). I have tried looking online forever and can't find anything like this. Her desk is only 24 inches deep, so ideally it would be open in the middle with just sides touching at each end near the ends of her desk (39 inches wide.
Anyone have any ideas where I can get something like this? I appreciate your help.</p>

<p>Because of the limited space on the desk, S put his printer under his bed (which is near his desk) and pulls it out when he needs to use it.</p>
<p>I would definitely recommend keeping the printer on the floor, as there just won't be space. I've found shelving on the desk to be extremely useful though, so you might want to consider something like that anyway, even if it isn't for the printer.</p>
