Why can't you grid in 0.5 instead of .5?

I made that mistake today and I didn't find out you couldn't until now. Why isn't it counted as correct if your number starts with a 0?

i think they will count the 0.5 on the second grid as .5 in the first. otherwise, it seems i might need to do a retake

Whoa… putting 0.5 will make it wrong? You sure?

That’s what someone on another thread said. There was a question on the SAT that asked for a fraction and I put a decimal that started with a 0. It still fit in the grid boxes. I heard that decimal answers are accepted when they ask for fractions. But I heard you can’t start with 0.

Thats ■■■■■■■■… I think I put all fraction answers though. I hope I’m right.
EDIT: I’m pretty sure you can start with a zero, actually. It would be completely unfair and stupid otherwise.

I think I also had 3 NE’s.
EDIT: Wrong thread lol
