<p>It's a lot easier to use, especially on the essay part, so why do they prohibit the use of these pencils? I used one last test, and nothing happened ._.</p>
<p>Yeah, I really don’t think it matters. Just to be safe, I used regular pencils to fill in the bubbles, but did all my work/circled answers in the book with a mechanical pencil, as well as the essay.</p>
<p>I seem to remember nobody ever caring when I took the SAT a few years ago. Maybe its just an effort to make everything more “standardized”? Plus, I guess they’re worried that even if a mechanical pencil says number 2 on the side, you might have filled it with non number 2 lead at some point.</p>
