Wellseley

Thanks in advance!

Oh yeah I’m also applying to Chicago EA and Brown ED.

Bump.

looking at your academics, most of the schools that you want to get into are matches or reaches. Of course the Ivy Leagues and New Ivies might be a stretch for you. Only thing that brings you down is your SAT scores. You should google MyChances.com (its html is like [Parchment | Parchment Inc.](http://www.parchment.com) or w/e) It allows to you to put in a lot of things like GPA, AP scores, SAT 1 and 2, ACT, etc. and it calculates for you. Note: however, that it gives you a percent, and then below it, is percent on how accurate that is.

I also have to add, I got a 5 on my APUSH exam, not a 3. So I really have four 5’s, two 3’s, and one 4.

You seem like a stellar student with solid grades, SATs, and ECs. On one hand, the couple of 3’s you got on APs may raise the question of grade inflation at your school considering your high GPA. However, I don’t think it will matter that much because you are top 10%.

Brown- Reach, but it’s a reach for everybody.

Bowdoin- Don’t know enough about this school.

CMU- Match

Emory- Don’t know enough about this

NYU- Match

Princeton (I know it’s a huuuge stretch)- High reach, but once again, it’s a reach for everybody.

Swarthmore- Don’t know enough about this.

U Chicago- High Match/Low Reach

USC- Match

Vandy- High Match

Vassar- Don’t know enough about this

Wellseley- Don’t know enough about this.

Sorry that I couldn’t chance you on some of the schools in your list, but I don’t really know enough about those schools to give you an accurate chance. Hope this helped!

edit This is scatman45, just dug up this old account to check a thread I had made yeaars ago. Sorry lol :P

Don’t waste an ED on Brown, it doesn’t offer one unless you have a hook like legacy or athletics. Generally, Academics aren’t a strong point. Gpa/class rank could be better for schools like Brown, Princeton, Swarthmore, and U Chicago. Other schools should be within range.

Thanks for the reply.

I recalculated my UW GPA, and somehow, it is actually 3.78.

Overall, I think you have a great resume for the schools you are applying to, though as the people before me have said, Princeton and Brown certainly are high reaches. I would say that your unweighted GPA is slightly low - given 3.8+ seems to be the standard for the high reach schools - but it shouldn’t be a big concern since you are in the top 10% of your class. I also think your SAT is fine, and I don’t see any of the colleges, other than Princeton perhaps, rejecting you solely on the basis of your SAT score.

Other than what I’ve said, you look solid. Good luck on your applications!

Would you mind responding to my own thread please? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1200308-reasonable-chances-getting.html</a></p>

Ok, I did.

Any more chances?

I am not very educated about these schools, but I know of Swarthmoore and I think you’re better than it! Low reach to the max!

Thanks! I recalculated my GPA and it’s only 3.72, actually.

Brown - Reach

Bowdoin - High Match

CMU - Match

CMC College - Don’t know

Emory - Don’t know either

NYU - Match

Princeton (I know it’s a huuuge stretch) - High reach

Sorry about the ones I don’t know.

And I disagree with the gentleman/lady above me, in that ED’s don’t significantly increase your chances as everyone think. So I think it’s more than apt to aim high with it. Also LAC’s like Swarthmore takes considerably less consideration on your GPA’s and a LOT more on your EC’s and Essays and interviews. So although I did say it was a reach, there are ample opportunity for you to increase your chances in those schools (Swarthmore and Bowdoin)

p.s. chance me back? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1206111-chance-me-ivy-leagues-nyu-stanford-others.html</a></p>

You are a competitive applicant for all these schools if you think of applying. I think you should have a high chance of get into Vanderbilt and Vassar.
