Why Columbia? Essay Question...Question r/o

I have a question about this essay. I have a general idea about what I want to write about, but I want someone's opinion on whether my idea is complete shiz. Any takers? (preferably people who have already gotten into CU)

You'd have to actually tell us your idea before we can pass any judgement/give advice on it, right?

I was hoping someone would say they're up for it and then I could PM them

clearly a better way to do it.

I'd be happy to give you some feedback. PM away.

I'm also up to the task. PM away and away.

thanks!
10 char

uhm, I'm a lil wary that I sent them out a day ago, they've been read, but I haven't gotten any feedback (besides Shraf)

The OP has forgotten to add in this thread that she requires feedback within a day. If not the OP will go paranoid and flood your pm box with messages full of profanity. I haven't been active on CC for a couple of days and she is now accusing me of trying to copy her essay.
In short, the OP is extremely immature. Please know what your getting yourself into =)

I sent you an apology PM yayatime...understandably, you will probably ignore it...

but I'm sorry, and I was given reason to doubt...not you per se, but this system in general

I really am sorry

again, you will probably ignore this because you wouldn't be wasting your time on me

I'm in no way sticking up for the OP, but honestly, you can't blame her for being worried, yayatime...a lot of stupid **** goes on on these boards, and plenty of people steal each other essays...she has no way of knowing you're trustworthy...ya, she probs shouldnt have sent it to you in the first place, and ya, she probably overreacted but

que sera sera

idontcare, if you don't trust people, in the future, don't ask them to critique your essays...k thanks.

The same thing happened to me. Here I am being a nice a guy and offering to help someone with their essay, and then, before I've even had a chance read it, I get a torrent of PMs swearing at me and accusing me of plagiarizing her work. Her apology was appreciated, but still, it shouldn't have happened.

No one is blaming anyone for being worried, we're blaming the OP for attacking the people who volunteered to do her a favor!

Some people I know, think that I'm craaazy...

My response to that situation, laneb/yayatime, would be to reply "well eff you, then!" and ignore it entirely. someone like that isn't worth your time.

It would be made a little funnier, however, if neither of you were applicants to college but were current college students or alumni. Paranoia gets funnier the more irrational it is.

Actually, I am a Columbia student. But I didn't tell idontcare to take a hike because ultimately I don't blame her completely for acting the way she did. I blame College Confidential's tendency to create loads and loads of unnecessary anxiety, a topic on which I am planning to write a lengthy post soon.

wait, is the why columbia a short answer or a full-blown 250-500 worder essay? it looked like just a blurb on last year's app
