why CORNELL? short answer.

I do realize the deadline is past and that I've submitted my application, but I just got a late critique for my "Why Cornell?" essay saying that it "barely qualifies for a first draft."

Although I do respect this person's opinion, she is the only one that has read my Why Cornell? statement so far. So, I'd like to have some other opinions on it as I, frankly, stand by my writing. Please comment here if you want to give my statement a look and will respond back.

SUre. I'll take a look.

artstar: Your writing on this forum is far superior to the quality of your Cornell essay. You were simply trying too hard to impress the admissions committee with big words and deep thoughts that were not used properly or well thought out. When I read your essay, I thought that it was sent to me as a practical joke. I still am not sure if you are serious, but if you are, please ask your English teacher for an opinion.

^ ouch, tough critique!

I can take a look too.

I'd like to read it if you're still looking for feedback. I'm a writer myself and the editor of my school paper, so I think I'm fairly qualified to read an essay.

I'll take a look at it--PM me.
