<p>Why do you think they chose Dartmouth as the college that Meredith went to?</p>
<p>i dont hear as much about Dartmouth than some other colleges, but at first i thought it was because shes the kind of the person who doesnt have to be at the best known college. Anyway does anyone have their take on this?</p>

<p>Dartmouth is one of the best schools in the US, so I don't know what you mean by "well known." </p>
<p>Anyway, Shonda Rhimes, Dartmouth class of 1993 I believe, is the creator and executive producer of the show.</p>
<p>plus it just fits merediths character history (used to party hard, very artsy etc.)</p>
