Ya *** @ kata what major did u apply to

Makes sense at big surf. My essay was about how my crazy fundamental dad banned me from going to school lol

I applied as a comp sci major, so I may have been beat by competition.

I also notified UCSC of an application error, and they gave me a form to fill out and return. I never did.

I had an application error too. 2 sentences were left out of y essay due to a pasting error

@OP- Why are you so disheartened by this? If you weren’t considering UCSC as an option and have already been accepted into other schools of choice, why is this so life-altering for you? I don’t get it. Just be happy that you got accepted SOMEWHERE. I’ve seen people on this board that get rejected to every school they apply to…now THAT would make me want to drop to my knees. Cheer up!

Because I didn’t necessarily want to go to those schools I want to get Ito other ucs and this seems like an indicator of my acceptances

0_0 where’s my hope

RE: OOS students. I though that the UC system, as a whole, was capped as regards the number of OOS the system can accept. They may be accepting more numbers of OOS to make up for tuition requirements, but the cap should still keep the final numbers relatively low. Indeed, I thought the cap was around 10%, including internationals.

@Goreh- Where are you interested in going? Also, I wouldn’t worry. Again, I’ve seen crazy things like that happen a lot here on CC. Somebody could get rejected from UCSC and get into UCSB, which doesn’t make much sense. I really feel like there is a good amount of luck involved in getting accepted/rejected. You’ve got great stats, so you have good chances at the mid-tier universities! On another note, which major did you apply to?

goreh if it means anything. My senior friend last year got rejected from Santa Cruz but got accepted into Davis and Berkeley. She ultimately chose Berkeley… but you know, try not to worry, you can always appeal, which I’m sure you’ll have a great case.

I also notified UCSC of an application error, and they gave me a form to fill out and return. I never did.

me too…& now i am really regretting it even though ucsc was not my first choice

stats-
3.75 uc gpa
1980 sat
29 act

You are to cut and dry.

Hey Gorehpakoreh, I noticed in the UCI thread you claimed to have a 3.8 UC gpa and 2050 SATs.

I’m just wondering why you keep lying about your stats. Is it to try to get people to sympathize with you? Because, to be honest, looking at the competency level demonstrated by your posts you have no more than a 3.0 gpa and 1600 SATs.

Just sayin’.

ya unlike CSU, UC’s arent strictly grades its your overall.

Trust me, UCSC is getting much more competitive. I know others who did not get in with over a 4.0… probably due to major. Also, UCSC intensely extends itself to those who are first time college bound in family.

I wish I was in UCSC
