Why did UMD give me two student email addresses? Is this supposed to happen?

In my foolish desperation to see my financial aid status at UMD, I decided go to the financial aid page and create a directory student ID and all that. I heard that some other prospective freshman were doing it, so I assumed that it was okay, but now I think I’ve done something wrong.

I’m already extremely lost on the website, but I managed to get to a page that said -

So there are three separate emails listed there - one is my personal account, but there are two others that are different (both affiliated with UMD). I thought that colleges only gave their students one student email account, so why do I have two?

My second question is: if that’s not normal, who am I supposed to contact to ask for help to fix this problem? UMD is providing me with a lot of different emails to contact for help (sfa-webstatus@umd.edu, sfaoper@umd.edu, umfinaid@umd.edu) and I don’t want to bother the wrong office… so if anyone could help, I’d appreciate it!

I would try the number below:

Thank you for visiting our web site to check your financial aid status. If you created your University Directory ID and password today or were admitted to University of Maryland recently and received this message, please check back after 48 hours. If you have any questions please email us at sfa-webstatus@umd.edu or call us at 301-314-9000.

@Earlesq Thank you for your response Earlsq  I actually logged in today and saw that it seemed to be fixed - one of the email addresses was removed, but in case any other issues arise, I’ll do as you suggest. Thank you!
