I'm trying to decide where to go to college, and NYU is one of my top choices. The price is really stopping me from committing to the school though. Anyway, I was wondering why people ultimately decide to go to NYU.

(I was admitted into the Liberal Studies Program)

I decided to go to NYU because it’s a highly respected and prestigious school, having a tier 1 ranking to prove that, but above all it has a wide array of course offerings to challenge myself with. The atmosphere of New York has also highly allured me, and with every visit I paid to it during my free time, the more insatiable my appetite came to live there. It’s location also helps greatly with getting internships, which are one of the more important aspects of college because ,let’s face it, a lot of employers care more about what jobs&internships you’ve had that what school you went to after a certain point. Also, the fact that I have a decent amount of friends already in NY does not hurt, since I’ll be able to balance both new and old friends during my free time.

Thanks!
Do you ever feel like you’re missing out since NYU isn’t a traditional college campus?

Well, I feel like thats def. going to be a con next year when I first go there, but I’m sure I’ll get over it. I don’t really need a campus to enjoy myself anyways, I’ll have the city.

This is just me, but I, personally, am excited about going to NYU precisely BECAUSE it isn’t a traditional college campus and because my experience won’t be the “typical US college” experience. In picking colleges I was looking for a more focused, mature, work-related environment, and NYU definitely offers that, from what I have seen and gathered. Most importantly, though, Tisch School of Arts is considered by many to have one of if not the best film program in the world, which is the main reason I chose NYU. But the lack of the traditional college experience was certainly a factor in my decision.
