I picked Riverside because I couldn’t get into Merced.

^Another elitist on CC  Really wish there was a block user function here.

Chose LA 'cause its in la

I chose UCSD over UCLA and UCI because:

1) I HATE the traffic in LA, ridiculous
2) SD has an excellent bio program and more bio research opportunities
3) The Veterans Affairs Liason at SD is top notch

in that order.

I chose UC Berkeley over UCLA because I live in the bay area, but mostly because it is the best public school in the country.

-Bump-

Anyone choose UCI over other UC’s? I feel like UCI is respected but I HATE, well I DISLIKE the area very much!! It’s way too conservative, and all of the shopping areas looks the same…boooooooooooooooooring!! I’m trying to find something about the campus and area that I could grow to like.

Yeah, I totally know what you mean. I was totally diggin’ UCI until I visited… didn’t feel it.

Chose UCLA over Berkeley and SD because I just love the campus eveytime I visit there. Since I transferred from SMC, which is only a few blocks away from its westwood big brother, I spent most of my spring semseter studying at UCLA’s powell library, east asian library, etc and felt it was really a place for me to excel in. For berkeley , although its biochem and molecular bio major at the graduate level is more prestigious , at undergrad level, the difference between Cal and UCLA is minimal that they are pretty much on par. (Also I have never visited the Berkeley before, so I can’t say anything about its campus environment). For SD, Although I knew their biochem program is really strong, I felt San Diego was a little more secluded than Los Angeles when I visited there.
