<p>This seems to be the trend everywhere I look-an asian girl with a white guy. For instance, my Indian friend has the hots for thsi Korean girl and so he told me to ask her if she's interested. When I tried to approach her about the topic, she said, "I only date white guys!!!" I was like *** and had all these mean thoughts running through my brain which I don't really want to share.</p>
<p>Is there any rationale to this unusual behavior or is my case simply an isolated occurrence??? Discuss.</p>

I'm Asian, and sometimes I like white guys and sometimes I don't. I don't see why it matters what race someone is.</p>
<p>I might be wrong, but I personally think that except for white guys, different genders of the same race are not equal in hotness. For example, asian females are deemed hotter that asian males. Black males (for the most part) are deemed hotter than black females. Indian women are hotter than indian guys, etc. So if you are the hotter gender in your race, than you probably don't feel the need to "step down" in terms of hotness, especially if youre the shallow type. That's why there are lots of asian women and indian women married to white guys, but you hardly ever see it the other way around.</p>
<p>I know that but when you are on a form it pays to offer some additional explanantion. At what schools are you guys observing this phenom? Just curious. I have two friends[male] with Yellow Fever: MIT & Stanford. They have had YF since high school and summer programs. hehehe I don't forsee the situation changing.</p>
<p>I've seen it in a variety of situations - whether it be Asian females being disgusted by the tendencies of their brothers or male cousins and thus being more inclined to date outside their race. Or when a young adult woman has become dissatisfied with her Asian lover and thus closemindedly states: "I will never date an Asian man again!" (Which is of course, not reflecting a general tendency of the Asian male but rather something that is acknowledged as a turn-off.) </p>
<p>White males attracted to Asian females? My school is fairly diverse with equal amounts of whites and asians (comprising roughly 60% of the students - high school). From observing white males with the fever, it seems they seem to idealize the Lucy Liu fantasy - sultry, fiesty and outwardly submissive.</p>

<p>Gosh I am not Asian so I hesitate to speak but many Southeast Asians that I am friends with have cultural issues: their parents and Anglo girls=NOT. Or the issue of parents and the wrong girl period. So in my experience it explains the male part of the problem. Maybe the girls get a free pass as long as it isn't serious. As long as their families don't know too much.</p>
<p>There is one thing I seem to notice, some guys who like asian girls have this weird fantasy of some exotic woman who will submit to their every whim and need...it is really strange. If only they knew the asian girls at my school, girls who are independent and opinionated... :P</p>
<p>If you date someone, date the person because you like him/her...don't date someone because you think they will live up to some stereotype...</p>
<p>Question for asian guys...why do some asian guys only want to hook up with white girls...??? That is pretty much the impression I got from the last IR thread (before it got deleted).</p>
