Why do CCers sit in the back?

Speculate on

I sit in the front row in like every single class-- it's a combo of being short and having contacts that for some reason don't work well with my eyes (I've had to have them changed multiple times, so they get slightly better, but I have difficulty seeing nonetheless).

the teacher pays less attention to what you are doing... ^_^

So I can sleep or do my homework.

Well, in all of my classes, we have assigned seats...if it were up to me, I would sit in the front in all of my classes.

^agreed, except for language arts, but only because my teacher makes me feel uncomfortable.

I sit in the back to avoid learning. It totally works...

I'd sit in the front row 'cause it's easier to make smartass comments.

Agreed. Plus more interesting people sit in the back.

"I'd sit in the front row 'cause it's easier to make smartass comments." I disagree, the back works fine for me...

I sit in the front during math classes, because I'm not very good at math, and you get to know the teacher a little better (although that can be argued)

During history and english classes, I sit in the back, because I never have trouble with those.

I sit in the FRONT for every single class, except math. Math = assigned seating... which sucks. I'm not exactly TALL and I don't have great eye sight either.

I sit in the front for math, because I actually need to pay attention. In the others, I try to sit towards the middle - gives you more people to talk to when you're bored.

at my prep school we have couches as another option so generally i sit on a couch because i can sleep and don't need to pay attention because i usually learn the material right before the test day at home. so i just drink a diet coke, kick off the flip flops, grab a pillow, and take a nice hour nap. Especially in World Civilizations.

how do you drink a diet coke then take a map...

caffeine and sleep don't go together for me...

Some school. I'm sure your parents love how you are utilizing their money.

dreams of having couches in class lucky

I sit in the back so I can sleep and do homework I didn't feel like doing at home. I hate chem though cause I sit front row center. I didnt choose the seat >.<

If I could, I'd choose to sit in the back for all of my classes except biology because teacher has a weird Southern accent and leaves out letters when she writes things on the overhead (for a whole month I thought tube feet = tubefee), so you're kind of screwed if you can't see the screen with the powerpoint notes. I was actually front and center for most of the year until I was absent one day, and some girl "temporarily" used my seat. Then she begged me to switch with her, and I suck at saying no. I'm also in the front in geography, math, and French. I hate it. I've noticed you get away better with not doing your homework when you sit in the back in French because the teacher only ever glaces for a completion grade. Yeah, and no one catches you doing other work when you sit in the back, which is why English is practically a study hall period for me.

I sit in the front, the back and the middle. It all depends on how early I got into my classes the first day. I normally try and go towards the back, you can see everything and are not directly in the teachers line of sight.

Lol our AP English teacher has couches. I'm looking forward to that next year. Somebody told me his philosophy is that people learn better when they're comfy.
