Everyone says i am an awsome drunk. A girl I know get's all paranoid and skeptical about everything and everyone and almost get's nervous breakdowns. Luckily for her she was only drunk once, lucky for me it was at my party(sense the sarcasm please).

wow....theres a reason ur all losers...everyone drinks except u nerdy losers.....u just sit on ur computer and jackoff to d&d....and u know its true thats why u will not respond to this....i guarentee it

A lot of people drink b/c their life has so much pressure it's an easy way to escape

Drinking is good in moderation, I don't see any appeal in getting drunk to the point of blacking out and hangovers.

compare it to chocolate cake.
IN moderation...wonderful!! have too much...you wont be feeling too well, and the pounds will start creeping on.

I drink because it's fun. I go out, get buzzed and have fun. I used to be really shy before I started drinking with my friends. I met alot of people from getting a little tipsy (and no I've never done anything sexual with someone while drunk except my boyfriend. The most I've done is make out with someone.), and now I'm less shy in everyday life too. We always have D.D.'s, never go out alone as girls, and nearly never get completely trashed (only done it a couple times, in a safe environment surrounded by friends). I would never drink just to get drunk, that's stupid. Getting drunk is just a happy side effect. That's why people drink beer-- to get f-ed up. They surely don't drink it because it tastes good. I drink liquor, and I like it. I could drink rum straight out of a bottle most of the time (usually don't though, that's another way to get wasted). I like vodka mixed with other things, like orange juice. I like the fruity "b!tch beers" like smirnoff ice. I know what alcohol ABUSE can do to a person-- my dad was borderline alcoholic and has cirrhosis of the liver now from it. But you have to drink ALOT for that to happen, like ridiculous amounts, because your liver takes care of itself up to a certain (high) point. I only drink usually once a week, twice if there's something major going on (end of classes, etc). Alcohol USE is nothing bad.

Oh, and PS, I've never thrown up or blacked out from being drunk. The most that's happened is being a little fuzzy on some things I said (and that's only during those very few wasted times). I don't really get hangovers either except again, those very few wasted times, and even then it was just a slight headache in the morning that went away after I drank some water.

Hopefully some words of wisdom...
before you go out drinking, eat a hearty meal including vegetables(tomatoes are the best), fruit and a few glasses of milk(not a whole carton..i learned that the hard way).
when you come home don't plop on your bed, drink as many glasses of water possible(not that you throw up or anything). I always down about 10 max. after/during/while you do that down some salt as well(just ORS). Then eat a sandwitch and go to bed. Sometimes i also fit a smoothie into the process, but i just love smoothies i don't really care if they are necessary or not.
I never get hung over nowadays.

Actually AUlostchick I like how beer tastes and the people who drink to get wasted usually drink hard liquor... not beer. One mixed hard alcohol drink is equal to about 2 beers IMO.

depends on the % alcohol.
Beer is usally 5ish, same with wine.
Cocktails vary alot.

maybe you should check your facts

**One 12-ounce beer has about the same amount of alcohol as one 5-ounce glass of wine, or 1.5-ounce shot of liquor. It is the amount of ethanol consumed that affects a person most, not the type of alcoholic drink.

My main point is that if someones goal is to get drunk... they are going to drink liqour not beer. I have never heard anyone say "Put down that vodka and pick up the Corona because I want to get trashed!!!" lol

Also in general it takes longer to consume a beer than a shot (obvious exception...beer bong)

You don't get around. Ever hear of a beer bong? I could go on....but clearly you don't get around.

OK add Shotgun......or any other speedy delivery method.

^ maybe you should learn how to read..

Also doing beer bongs is more a high school thing (when most kids drink to get drunk..). When my friends say they are having a beer, they mean they are just going to drink a beer not chug it.

hm.... i don't even know what an ounce is so i'm not even going to comment but beers in holland at least are around 5%, i stand corrected wine is more.
I occasionally hard liquor but why the rush ? Aren't you supposed to enjoy you alcohol and the whole socialising in between ? It might be just me but i rather drink beer the whole night and get wasted then drink rum in some kind of race to get drunk.

I don't get beer-pong either. It's fun and all but i think beer is for winners. I think if you get the ball into one of the opponents cups you get to drink it....

Hazmat, you have to admit that usually the people that want to do beer bongs or shotgun are the same people ready and willing to do any shot. They are looking to get drunk. If you are talking about the average drinker though they will tell you if they are looking for a mellow night they are going to drink beer.

Sweetny.....I drink in bars in an urban setting.....not beer bong/shot gun palaces or corn fields. Cannot really confirm what you speak but you seem to be in the know. I bow to your expertise, your superior CR skill and that you likely are in the in crowd.

haha I live in Los Angeles. You were the one acting like the normal way to drink a beer was via a beer bong. I guess you realized you didnt make any sense. ;)

My recollection is that you brought up beer and getting drunk...but you know, it matters not. I am sure shot gunning is popular in LA.

binging every weekend isn't fun anymore. i only recently reached legal drinking age and the will for constant binging has died. . . a friend of mine also went to the doctor recently and he has been diagnosed with Korsakov syndrome.... he was by far the biggest binger i have ever met but it still made my spine tingle.

Again, you may want to brush up on your reading/comprehension skills. I was responding to another poster that said in order to get drunk people prefer to drink beer not liquor. I said that was incorrect. To which you responded:

"You don't get around. Ever hear of a beer bong? I could go on....but clearly you don't get around."

lol you don't make any sense.
