<p>Why do colleges ask about previous applications to their school in the Transfer process?</p>

<p>Will they look over your old essays/recommendations if they were horrendously bad, or is it to see that you have demonstrated interest in the past, or is it something entirely different?</p>

<p>Not entirely sure why. Some schools keep old applications, others don’t. Again, demonstrated interest could be a factor in some schools, but likely is not in those that get lots of applicants for relatively few spots.</p>
