I got an interview call from Vassar just now, in email, and I will definitely attend.I know that it says that it is supposed to be informative and casual, but isn't it too late to add anything to my file? And I am an international and many applicants from my city didn't get one, so I kinda feel strange here.

Is it possible that they are just looking for to clarify something they have been confused with in my application or something?

erin,
Sometimes there is not an alum available close enough to do a face-to-face interview. I did a few alum interviews this year. I advised the person who was coordinating them that I could possibly help with one where the applicant lived an hour or so away, if they were able to meet half way. Unfortunately when the woman coordinating the interviews got back to me I was leaving to go out of town, and I offered to help when I returned. I did not hear further, so I am assuming they found someone else to do the interview, though I don’t know for sure.

late reply to this thread, but i just wanted to let future applicants know what happened.

I was called to the interview along with another candidate, who came at a later time. Both of us were top applicants. We both got waitlisted.

One guy I know did not get an interview at all. He got accepted.

So getting the interview does not let you know if your app was good or not. Although it might still mean that they are on the fence about you, but I doubt it, because my interview was great.
