Why do i keep failing the math portion of the SAT? :(

Ok so i took the SATS and i got an avg math score of 560. However this summer ive been studying and everytime i do a math section i keep getting 390 and 380 in it :( i get stuck on each problem and its fustrating. I dont understand how i got a 560 on the SATS if i keep getting in the 300s everytime i practice :(( advice please!

Maybe you’re just nervous? Try to relax and stop doing practice tests. Study the basic concepts for a week or two and then take a practice test. Review the concepts and strategies from Barron’s or Grubers (search on Google for PDFs) and once you have them down, you’ll start to improve. If you find any concepts difficult to remember or always mess them up then start putting them on flashcards. I’ve been putting all my constant mistakes on flashcards and it’s very helpful. Know these cold: http://powerscore.com/sat/help/content/flashcards/SAT%20Math%20Bible%20Flash%20Cards.pdf</a>
Those are just a few so make sure you know the rest from the books I’ve suggested. Once you have those concepts down then take a test to see where you are. You will most likely be around 600. Now, if you want to improve further you need to buy PWN the sat, that book has seriously helped me so much. The author talks a lot about the problems that always get me and I’m sure many others. I’m nowhere near done with the book but my scores have improved from 590 to 670 in about a month. Once you are in the 640+ score range keep using the books, the rest is just study and practice to get you used to seeing the patterns and having a keen and critical mind. Just practice AFTER you’ve studied so that you don’t keep disappointing yourself. Because, in reality, if you don’t study and know the concepts how can you answer the questions later? Best of luck! Btw, my first ever PSAT score was 390(10th grade) so you can do this!! It’s really easy math once you get the hang of it  God bless, and trust yourself. Practice is only half the battle, you gotta have ambition as well, so don’t give up.

Thanks so much :)
