I often see on CC that people say taking 5 AP classes in high school is a lot. This has always befuddled me because frankly, it's not. Some people at my school, myself included, take 5 APs ine ONE year. By the time I'm out of high school, I will have taken 17-18 APs. What's the deal?

If you’re so smart, figure it out.

most people do not know how to bs the h.w that should be bs’ed or manage their time.

Most people have lives.

Not all school offer a lot of AP classes or make taking them an easy feat.

Just depends on your standards, your situation, etc. At my school, most AP classes aren’t typically open to lowerclassmen. As a freshman you can take AP Human Geo, sophomore AP World History, and junior AP US History and AP English Lang. Classes like AP European History, AP Psychology, AP Calculus, AP Stats, AP English Lit, and all the languages and sciences are pretty much exclusively for seniors. The only reason I was able to take three in my junior year was that I skipped a grade in math when I was younger.

And AP classes vary in difficulty. I took five AP classes my senior year, but they were all pretty easy (Euro, Lit, Psych, French, and US Gov) and the teachers didn’t assign much homework. Yet at another school in my district, US Gov is one of the hardest classes because the teacher is much stricter. And it would be a lot harder for someone who wants to be an engineer and would end up taking Chemistry, Physics, Calculus BC, and Spanish.

Also, most people are not very academic. Although I hang around people who like learning and want to take AP classes, my younger sister and her friends can barely pass regular classes. For them, taking even one AP class can be an accomplishment.

This is a very college confidential question… do you really not understand why people would think taking five advanced… placement… classes is a lot?

But it really does depend, like the person above said. They can vary in difficulty depending on the subject and school.

5 as opposed to none is a pretty huge advantage

I’m calling ■■■■■. Not that he’s lying about his APs but that he’s intentionally trying to **** people off.

OP is so damn cool.

You’re right, it sounds like a ■■■■■

Too bad there isn’t a world record for the person that takes the most AP classes during high school.

^That person would most likely be found on this site.
