Why do people say High School is so hard?

Last year, I heard everyone complaining about all the teachers and their huge amounts of homework and their poor grades. It seems like every year is supposed to be so much harder than the year before.

But I started high school this year as a freshman and I pretty much NEVER get homework(I finish it in study hall). Sometimes I do it at home because I'm bored, but I could just finish it during study hall because it's a late period class. And the tests may even be easier than they were in middle school. My classes are:
Honors Algebra 2
Honors English
Gym
Honors Biology
Spanish 2
Modern World History

Has anyone else experienced something similar? "High School is going to be so hard." and then you realize, it's not.

You must be a genius.

You’re taking easy classes.

This is your current schedule? If you’re a freshman, shut up. Honestly. You’re a FRESHMAN; it ISN’T hard yet. Just wait. Wait until school work totally murders your social life…

I can’t wait til your junior year, so you can see what we all mean. (:

1.Implying that middle school is easier, your not taking honors your lying.
2.It is the beginning of the year.

I thought it was somewhat easy my first marking period of High School, and then it just got harder.

You just started high school…with easy classes… please sit down.

Freshman year is a joke so what you’re experiencing right now is not really representative. Junior Year and Senior year is tougher, but the work grows on you so it’s not a sudden adjustment. Most of it is that people like to complain, almost self-pitying. They should just shut up and work and most of the problem arises for them because they’re distracted.

Excuse me? What you’re witnessing is a phenomenon we call “Freshman Year”. That is all.

Hahah, this is one of the reasons upperclassman hate freshman. (-;

High school CAN be hard.

I’m a senior taking this schedule -
AP bio
AP chem
AP statistics
AP calc ab
AP physics C
AP literature
AP macroeconomics
AP government

If you can finish all of the homework for all of MY classes in one study hall period, then I will admit that you are a fast worker/fast learner or genius…

Because we all don’t go to the exact same school with the same teachers that grade in the same manner and teach the same curriculum.

Because they take 7 AP classes along with playing a varsity sport.

You’re a Freshman, 'Nuff said.

Because you have zero APs and that schedule is a joke aside from Honors Algebra 2.

lmao freshman year is a joke…it starts to get hard in sophomore year.

shut up freshie.

just wait until junior year… you’ll wonder why you’re still in high school.

Haha you guys are really jumping on this guy. His schedule is actually probably the most rigorous available since the vast majority of schools do not offer APs to freshman.

Now my turn to attack the dumb underclassman-

–You have a study hall. This shows you aren’t really smart at all, or at least have no interest in pursuing legit academic rigor
–Your language is not Honors. Very amateur.
–You have no ECs. You probably go home and watch Spongebob reruns and Jeopardy! while the rest of us are working our asses off at sports, play rehearsal, band, etc.

While you may have met some people who think that hs is hard in your life, here on CC we are not normal. We are narcotically smart. Thus arrogance is not tolerated much.

Much love,
Big Banks, Baby!

^I feel that you’re a giant *******.

^^
My school actually used to have a mandatory “study-hall”-ish period and the first two years of foreign languages aren’t considered honors and the third year and up are considered honors. There may not be different classes for this person also.

We don’t go to the same schools, folks.

6 AP’s + Student Government + NHS Presidency+Youth Orchestra + Jazz Band+ Varsity Sport. That’s why high school is hard.
