Why Do People Say Sparknotes SAT II Chem Tests Are Very Hard?

I just took a Sparknotes test and got a 780. I thought it was pretty easy. I find the Barrons ones more challenging.

On Barrons I get around 690-750. On the Princeton tests I got 740, 790 and 700. I find the Kaplan ones the most challenging (got 660 I think), although I think this is because I haven't taken AP Chem, and Kaplan seems to have some AP questions.

Also, on CollegeBoard tests I got 700 (old one, but I missed some pretty easy questions) and 740 (from new blue book, but it would have been a 770 if I didn't make stupid mistakes). I also took these tests a week ago, so I may be better at chem at this point.

Can I possibly get 790 or 800 by October judging by these scores? What should I do to get to that level?

Yeah pretty much. I mean, it’s unpredictable (some who score low on practice tests score high on the actual thing, vice versa). Though if you’re pretty sure of the material and format, than yeah, I’d say you stand a great chance of at least 750+, and probably more into a 780-800 region.

And yeah, I really wouldn’t trust Kaplan for many SAT/AP topics at all really…

If you got a 780 on the Sparknotes test, then you’re pretty much set, I’d wager.

I never got higher than a 740 or 750 on a Sparknotes test, did no other prep, and got an 800 when I took it in.
