Why do people take Math 2 subject test instead of Math 1?

Isn't the Math 1 easier? Also, do colleges like Ivy's like Math 2 better?

1° Many colleges don’t really consider Math 1 (or certainly “prefer” or “strongly prefer”, which means “want” math2)
2° The curve for Math 1 is killer, much worse than for math2.

Essentially, there’s no point in taking Math 1 if you can handle Math 2, and students who can’t do Math 2 shouldn’t take a Math test (if they can"t handle Math2, they have no business applying to engineering schools that require a math test and other schools don’t require Math) but rather a test that displays their strengths better, be they history or foreign language.
The ONLY reason I see to take Math 1 is the case of someone applying to test flexible schools that accept Math1 + two other tests as subsitution for the SAT or the ACT.

Yeah there’s no point taking Math I because of the curve. So many people I know got 800 on Math II but less than that on Math I.

Around 15% students get 800 in Math2.
