Why do people?

oh by the way...just in case you didn't know...Columbia is in NEW YORK CITY, your hometown, dawg. Just in case you didn't know...

Isn't there a moderator that locks this, there is no point in continuing the thread.

okay kid, look. youre from NEW JERSEY, not new york. im sure you go to ny all the time, blah blah, but you dont live there, so stop telling us about living there.

and NOBODY is arguing with you that you need to know the city to get around. we are telling you that people learn. do you not speak english? are you illiterate? is your attention span so short that you cant even read the posts we are making?

There was no point in beginning the thread in the first place. What was your point, to encourage the rest of us to withdraw our place at the college? Pshh yea right.

I'll show you New York City...

"Isn't there a moderator that locks this, there is no point in continuing the thread."

...says the one who started it...

So New York is a big confusing city that you couldn't possibly survive in, not if you got off of a boat from a different country and didn't even speak the same language?

Oh wait, you're a moron.

Immigration proves you wrong.

Maybe I would give this more credence if you were an old man that lived in the Bronx your whole life. I just don't understand how you have any credibility on this issue and especially when you make assumptions about people you do not even know.

LoL obviously you're not worried that people might not "survive" in New York or you wouldn't have said

but he doesn't deserve it in my opinion -- It really ****es me off to see people like him get into the school and many others rejected.

BTW I currently live close to downtown Boston and I've been to serveral large cities. In my opinion, NYC wasn't much different from Boston, Chicago, or LA. Ofcourse when one's in the city, one would have to take certain precautions, usually against theft. But as long as your cousin doesn't get "involved" with "bad people" in the city, he should be fine.

I like how you're not rebuttling other and more important points we all have made, but just showing your pure immaturity through sarcasm and words aimed to offend.

Its too bad that NJBoy has built up NYC in his mind as being "his city"

miche - oh, and dont forget how clever he is by showing us how to leave spaces between fancy four letter words so that the board doesnt censor it!

There is no point arguing over an internet message board. Wow, you guys are real cool making insults but with "big" words trying to make yourselves look smart. I didn't come here looking to e-fight with anyone and I'm not going to continue it now. I might have a different opinion than all of you, but there's no way to tell me I'm wrong. If you do come to NYU and learn your way around, that's great. Congrats. If not, well than maybe something I was trying to say had some truth in it. But again, whatever, I'm done with this crap.

i hope you realize about 65% of students are out of state and most of them did not "transfer out after a semester"

Im not sure why this guy insists on feeding stereotypes for people from Jersey. It doesnt do him or his state any service.

Yeah Jersey is not New York. You are a suburban kid like most kids on this board.

I'm telling you, it doesn't take a year or even fours year to learn NYC. Its Manhattan, its an island. It's not an entire country.

ryan, that was like the best "reel him back in" comment ive ever seen.
Hats off to ryan everybody, for the best post.

big words? oh im sorry, which word i said did you not understand? was it "censor"? "illiterate"? so, so sorry...

Do I sense some quit in this statement? With the tone you wrote your original message, I am surprised. A REAL New Yorker would show some heart.

oh come now ryan, what could you possibly know about new york or new yorkers?

//sarcasm
