Why do schools not provide more information to applicants?

here my wish list of historical data that I wish would be made avaiable.
1)Accepted students average (mean) GPA/WGPA
2Denied students average (mean) GPA/WGPA
3)Accepted students SAT (mean score)
4)Denied students SAT (mean score)

Re: #21

SJSU goes further and posts the admission thresholds for the just-completed admissions cycle:

Info.sjsu.edu[/url”>http://info.sjsu.edu/static/admission/impaction.html]Info.sjsu.edu

Of course, SJSU just uses the CSU eligibility index (a formula of GPA and SAT or ACT score) for frosh applicants, and prior college GPA for transfer applicants, admitting from the top for each major until capacity is reached.

But the thresholds may change the following year, due to changes in the popularity of each major.
