<p>This kind of early deposit is everywhere: paying for your university, when you initially sign the apartment contract, when you lease your car, etc. etc. etc.</p>
<p>Well that’s true. I guess it doesn’t matter. They could reduce it to $10, and just add $90 to the tuition to make everything seem more reasonable, but whatever.</p>
<p>But if they only asked for 10 dollars, you wouldn’t be as committed. This should be obvious.</p>
<p>Ehhh… I think it IS a form of deposit? According to my eBill, I have already made $100 payment in the form of my SIR, so I get $100 off my total tuition bill for this semester… under ‘Payment’, it shows that I have already made $100 in payment, which is my SIR fee.</p>
