..self explanitory and what other colleges are you applying to?

Georgetown's campus is absolutely beautiful. Even though it is in DC you still get the campus feel. I really liked the student center. THey had taco bell, subway, and pizza hut on campus. It looked like the kids were studious but were still having fun.

and of course.. its ranked highly and has a great rep.

i am also applying to bc, uva, lehigh, wake, richmond

I don't and I'm a freshman here...

Why don't you like it?

I loved the campus. Plus, there's SFS. DC is an awesome city. The girls are very attractive. I'm applying EA to SFS.

Other schools
-Tufts
-Columbia
-Penn (Huntsman)
-Stanford
-UCLA(in state)
-UCSD
-UCD
-George Washington

Good luck with Huntsman, that is some tough ass stuff.

Yea, its called a SUPER reach.

how sad im competing with people who don't even have georgetown as their super reaches..like myself

I'm a freshman here and I LOVE IT.

I was worried before I came, I really had some bad preconceived ideas about the college in general. BUT:

I love Copley lawn and the buildings around it. Most beautiful buildings in the world in my opinion (except for Lauinger, I suppose). It's so great to be able to take towels and go lie up on Copley lawn with friends to hang out or study.

I love my dorm! Everyone (generally) is loyal to their dorm. Even those in Darnall think they've got it great (aka, Darnawesome). I'm in Harbin. It's perfect! Close to everything, very social, pretty clean. I love my room! It's big enough and the built in desk/drawers/shelves are great.

The fact that it's a few minute walk to either Yates, Leo's, Leavey, or practically anywhere else you'd want to go on campus, is awesome.

I love that, especially if you're a girl, you can go out every night and not spend a penny. Party scene is great (as long as you pregame), and when it's not, you can just leave and walk somewhere else. Everything is within really close proximity to the campus.

I love DC! you can walk/catch a GUTS (okay, GUTS sucks, but whatever) to just about anywhere--it's a great form of exercise. DC has everything. I was invited to free swing dance lessons on the roof of the kennedy center one night, for example. I didn't end up going, though, because I didn't want to leave Georgetown. In any case, I'm rambling randomly, but just throwing some stuff out there.

I have 5 classes, which has added up to 5 FAVORITE professors! They're all so amazing. My IB prof wrote the text, which isn't rare at all at GU. They're all so intelligent and EXTREMELY accessible. My professors email me all of the time with articles they think we might be interested in, office hours, and whatever else they feel they need to tell the class.

The fact that I get emails every week announcing great, famous speakers who are coming to campus. Only bad thing there is that you have to be really fast to RSVP in time to get a seat--I'm waiting for confirmation on a speech from the President of Afghanistan. Last week Madeleine Albright and Barak Obama spoke. I was sitting on Copley lawn with friends a couple weeks ago and a bunch of gov't security rolled up: we ended up getting a glimpse of the former president of Iran. It's just an amazing place to be!

Leo's -really- isn't that bad 86% of the time...

You can pretty much create a schedule that suits your personality. my earliest class is 10:15 MW, 2:15 TTH, and 11:40 F. It's the best!

I love that I have friends from all over the world! And I love meeting new, interesting people every day who come from all different backgrounds.

Wisey's has really great breakfast sandwiches--I still haven't tried chicken madness, though.

School spirit is great on campus. Also, there are so many great activities to get involved in, and all of the groups make getting involved very easy to do.

It's great to be at a place where everyone does there work and is very intelligent, but also knows how to party.

The campus is beautiful, the academics are top-notch, and there seems to be a real sense of community. I'm not a student there, but I volunteer at the hospital next door, so I've spent some time walking around campus. If it weren't in DC I'd definitely apply, but I've lived here since middle school and right now I'm mostly concerned with getting out.

cny06 are you in SFS, a government major, or do you just have an interest in political speakers?

Cause its effing amazing...

except for Leo's, how can anyone say that?

akajjred-
i'm a business major and i have no interest at all in politics, I just think it's great we have these people coming and I would enjoy hearing any one of them speak--who would pass up a chance to see the president of afghanistan?

PS- new thing i love about georgetown: coming back from parties between 3 and 4 in the morning and swimming in the fountain

Jayson, what in particular do you not like about Georgetown? I know it can often be just a general feeling, but maybe there is something specific...

cuz its endowment is so small

you revived a one and a half year old thread to complain about Georgetown's endowment?

it maybe smaller than some schools, but no one goes to college for the endowment. A lot of alumni go into high power jobs, not necessarily high paying jobs ( though they do that too). I think if it was really that big of an issue students' would feel the affect. I have never heard someone say. O I love georgetown but that endowment is really ruining my experience. :)
they are also currently using a some of that money to build two huge buildings, which is fine with me. I would rather see the money used than just held in banks to manipulate rating. sorry just my 2 cents.
