For example, with professional majors (lets take engineering for an example), a degree at Georgia Tech or Purdue or Illinois may be just as good if not better than a degree from Harvard, Yale or Columbia. So you have to not only keep in mind the overall prestige of the school, but the prestige of the school in your major if it matters to your future career (liberal arts majors probably don’t have to worry too much about this).</p>
