What about your current college isn't doing it for you?

Small college town with nothing to do but go to redneck frat parties and drink Natty Light, which I stopped doing 2 weeks after the first semester started. Now there is literally nothing to do, and the closest major city is my home city, which isn't that exciting in the first place.

Too many redneck idiots.

Very poor academics except for my honors classes.

Not challenging in the slightest bit.

Social scene is almost entirely Greek, but the frats are all terrible and, again, full of rednecks.

Lack of big city conveniences that I'm used to.

I know more about the subject than half of the instructors here.

Nazi-like dorm policies.

ehh academics (4.0 quite easily, and i was never that great a student in HS)

HUGE and spread out school (constantly getting lost)

really far from home and expensive travel

one minded student body (i dont really even consider my friends nice people...im just stuck with them at this point)

cold weather for like 10 of 12 months...no joke

just looking for something different both socially and academically

1) Too easy academically.
2) Dorm prices are outrageous.
3) City-campus, which I dislike.
4) Campus is pretty much dead (socially) on weekends.
5) Bad organization of student clubs/activities.
6) No school pride (lack of Football team).
7) Campus is all old/brick buildings set in the middle of a city, no nice scenery.

1) classes are not challenging enough
2) school is located in a city full of wired people
3) tuition way too expensive
4) school unranked

For great justice.

My college is only known for business

Im not doing business

F-ckin' LOL!

Kindofblue, sounds like we transferred for largely the same reasons. If I remember correctly, you're going to WashU as well, correct? =)

Yeah. Where are you transferring from?

1) most expensive school in the country, but ranked 54th. unacceptable.
2) poor math program.
3) lack of a campus.
4) nazi-like dorm policies.
5) not really that challenging.

School is for business, pre law, and music. I have no interest in any of those. Also it is weak at science. I am interested in a science major.

-Too greek-life oriented (I might rush next year though.)
-The city is small, ghetto, and offers nearly nothing.
-Doesn't have the "it" feeling. I can't explain it, but I like the vibe of, for example, USC, UCLA, and UNC's Franklin street. This school does not give me that feeling.
-Other intangibles

"I hate this place, and I am embarrassed that I attend this school."

I want a campus.

want to surround myself with leaders in each respective field.

would like to compete with the best of the best.

would like to learn from the best of the best.

I want to have some school pride (not "city pride")

would like to recieve some Financial Aid.

I changed my major... and my current school doesnt have it. I want to do Environmental Studies and/or Community Health and neither is offered here.

I want to play varsity soccer again. My current school is D1 and recruits from around the world so walk-ons arent accepted. I would like to walk onto a D3 soccer team.

Academics are too easy. (I got a 4.0 really easily last semester)

no research opportunities... I'd like to work as a lab assistant or doing research with a professor.

I dont want an urban campus, especially not in Baltimore.

There is a terrible apathy towards academics at my school amongst the majority of my student body. This has also carried over to extra curriculars as there are few active student organizations to get involved in.

hmmm

it seems like the single most reason why people here want to transfer out is to get out of an urban area into a more "college spirited" campus
