Math II has a much easier curve, and is more highly valued by colleges (required by some). So why do nearly one hundred thousand people wake up early on a Saturday to go get a crappy Math I score?

Not everyone reads CC…others learn in uncompetitive environments and wouldn’t have the chance to compare SAT II’s with peers and some might be intimidated by II because they are insecure of their math ability.

I bombed Pre Calc, and I needed a high Subject Test score for college admissions.

Math II has a more generous curve, but the content is more difficult.

and some of us are not currently in pre calc so we haven’t learned the material for some of the problems on the math II subject test…

yeah, i suspect it’s because many people haven’t covered the math II material yet.

If you get an 800 on Math II, that’s good, but relatively common among applicants to top universities.

If you get an 800 on Math I, that’s much less common and more difficult than the same score on the Math I test.

If you get an 800 on both Math I and Math II, then you are very, very good at math and colleges will realize this.
