I have 2 EC's. Actually maybe I have only 1. But I devote my time to it so sucks to all of you with 2750293.

Ardiu, for instance, I like to be active, and hence I do EC's :). Particularly easy, is not it?

who's who is worthless, but NHS is definitely a nationally accredited program. 1) It does NOT cost any money to join, so it's definitely not a money-grabbing trick like Who's Who. 2) In our school it's actulaly very hard to get into NHS, fewer than 1/2 the students who are eligible academically (3.5+ gpa I think...) get accepted into NHS (they don't pass the leadership, service, character part). So it's taken pretty seriously in my school. 3) We run tutoring programs for the rest of the school, and 4) we do community service for our school, region, and state.

people who have countless ECs with math team, science team, debate, and all that ish are just kids with no social life and kids who don't have any fun on weekends. i feel sorry fir them (a generalization i know, may not apply ro everybody, but, is true)

S is using his ED school's online application. He has a few ECs and even then there isn't enough room to list his involvement. I e-mailed the school and the admissions office said to write "SEE ATTACHED SHEET" on the online app and snail mail the information to them.

"people who have countless ECs with math team, science team, debate, and all that ish are just kids with no social life and kids who don't have any fun on weekends."

I aggree, I personally prefer to have a great social life, because I'll never be a teen again. Stacking yourself with EC's doesn't give you time to get to k now who you are. Maybe I won't get into the best school in the country, but at least I'm happier knowing I was a teen and not a workoholic.

"people who have countless ECs with math team, science team, debate, and all that ish are just kids with no social life and kids who don't have any fun on weekends."

Or, MAYBE those kids find those things FUN and prefer to do them as opposed to going out and partying and drinking on the weekends.

Just a thought...stop trying to reconcile what you see as inadequacies by insulting other people.

1 academic and 1 athletic activity that you REALLY dedicate time and effort to is all you need.

does 400 hours in a tutoring club show dedication?

I don't even have a club listed...not a club person. School clubs, esp. in my school, are like...boring, useless, unproductive. But, the ECs I do have, outside of school, are AWESOMELY COOL.

I joined a lot of clubs in school. Most of our meetings were like either once or twice a month anyways.

It can't be true. It's look like You can not understand, how people can have social life and countless ec's. But try not to measure people by Your burette...

Often people says: You do not have life! Go to party, join ping-pong club. You only sit and learn Your Physics/Biology/Chemistry/History etc.

But try to understand, learning is amazing, receiving new information thrilling as well as extreme sports, sometimes. And You will never be teenager again, You will never be able to comprehend so much, as now. And You never repeat Your first undergraduate studies, or first admission.
It depends what one's like. But it is logical to like this, what You should do.
You obey ambivalence and unhappiness ;).

"My most important EC is checking college confidential."...

Maybe we should issue a certificate verifying time on site, message posted, etc. ;)

BTW, I really doubt if everyone in the HELL has so many EC. It is rather dull place...
