Why does everyone on CC think they are so STUPID when they are near genuises? GRRRR.

^I didn’t mean that they actually said I was ■■■■■■■■. I meant that they look at anything below a 30 as “easy to accomplish with no effort”. They make me feel ■■■■■■■■ because I tried hard to get a score that they think can be accomplished without even studying or trying.

in a way, those kids are showing off

If you look at the admission rates of top universities, applicants have good reason to be freaking out. Good stats don’t guarantee admission, and nothing breeds panic as uncertainty does.

Most people on here aren’t questioning their own eligibility because they want to dig for compliments. It’s more because they want a realistic assessment of their chances at being admitted to a top university. They’re not trying to show off and make other people feel bad, so it’s really not worth it nor is it reasonable to get angry at them.

And I have to disagree with the OP’s statement that everyone should “take a chill pill” because there are “a ton of average students” who would “kill” to have the stats that people on CC are stressing out over. People who work hard and are successful shouldn’t have to shut up and be grateful just because there are others out there who are less successful, especially when a LOT of those other “average” people could have worked harder.

oh and i think most people on here work hard because they’re self motivated, not because theyre spineless and crumble under parental pressure.

I’ve never understood why my friends at my school don’t do as well as me academically. Many are just as smart as me, but I guess that they’re not as ambitious.

My entire goal in high school is to be good enough to leave this s h i t hole of a town I’m growing up in. If that means pushing myself to be perfect, to be val, to get a 36, 5s on APs, etc - then that’s what I have to do. My parents can’t afford to send me to college unless I get an almost full ride.

I still respect people who have chosen different paths from me in life. I could never be an auto mechanic, write novels, or be a chef. Just because CC would consider those “lesser” careers doesn’t mean that the people that choose them are stupid or unambitious. In other words, I respect the choices of the people around me, knowing I could never do what they do.
