Why does everyone on here hate high school?

"Nobody I know is like obsessive about college/grades/achievement like that!"

Go check out a few of the more active forums on CC and you'll see more of that kind of person than you ever knew existed

lol, i remember last year when our lit teacher was talking about the ropes course where you learn about teamwork and trust and conquering your fears. a great deal of people in our class were very enthused about it until she mentioned that it'd be held on a school day. then everyone, and i mean everyone, immediately backed out because they were afraid of missing the classes right before a week of big tests. the teacher kind of shook her head and said. "only at MVHS." but of course it's not only at mvhs, it's a veritable nationwide epidemic. it makes you wonder how this will impact how we treat the next generation.

oh and jenesaisquoi, even though they banished the add a word story thread (rightfully i guess since the last fifteen posts were me curling up in fetal position about always coming in second) that glorious foaming frothing fetid foul fungus sentence will forever stay with me. :)

I know...I bet it will be like the 60s all over again!! Haha, all the crazy overachievers will feel like they missed out on their youth and FUN so they will encourage their kids to live it up while they can!!!

d.e.m. ~ truely, that was an awesome sentence!! ;)

Ha, forget regretting it when I'm old! I'm livin' it up in college! At least the first semester of freshman year so I don't blow it for grad school. Oy, it's the disease of our generation, eh? They should come up with a name for that...

noonehasanysenseofselfworthoutsideoftheircollegeapplications-itis.
or maybe
omgthepressureimgoingtohaveanervousbreakdownatthirtytwo disease

or simply

the collegeconfidential syndrome

or CCS for short. i like it.

Loves It!!!!!!!

lol, me too.

hey guys, if we're killing ourselves now in high school, doesn't that mean we're already dead and thus we have no lives? hmmm.... how will we ever hope to come back into the world of the living? that boggles ...

maybe deep deep down inside we've kept hidden away a small reserve of our former selves to nurture once free of high school. dear god i hope so.

paraphrased, using new terminology:

CCS is slowly eating away my soul.

LOL Well I hate to say it guys but I am not really afflicted with CSS...I must say that at times (albeit very rarely) I am jealous of people who are though, just because I wonder if I would have done wayy better in high school if I actually tried or cared. But, then I remind myself that I actually HAD FUN! LOL...I guess it just depends on your personality.

d.e.m.'s reply: same here. Dear God! Let high school end soon...

Get this at our graduation, we don't even get caps and gowns! Girls have to wear white dresses - no cleavage, straps at least 1 inch thick, tea length or long - and haku leis, and boys have to wear white dress shirts, white pants, white shoes, maile lei, and a red sash to be tied around the waist provided by the school (the sash, that is). How EFFFED UP is that? I wanna move my tassle to the other side and throw my cap in the air!!! frickin A... private schools, bah.

haha our school colors are purple and gold. what a beautiful ceremony that is huh? hehe being called "dem" is funny. if i knew my username would be acronymed when i signed up i'd of dubbed myself "ostrich seeks hot infantile teletubbies" wonder if that would fit in the little gray boxes on the side.

I'll get you one of ours and mail it to you.

YOU EARNED THAT TASSLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

LOL! you have the best sense of humore ever!!! i'm like laughing my ass off lol

okay, I'll stop with the acronym.. i'm just lazy, my brain is fried....

Yay! tassle... :D

"It just seems like everyone around here hates high school SOO MUCH and can't wait for college. I mean don't get me wrong, I definitely don't like about 90% of the people in my school, and I completely understand the whole shallow/petty argument, but COME ON! It can't really be that bad!!! As much as I feel like I am ready to move on, I also feel like there's a lot of good times and awesome people I'm leaving behind. High school is such a fun time...there are so many new experiences and chances to enjoy yourself!! How can so many people hate it so much??"

Because some are completely worthless or at least partially that way. :P

I agree with hibiscusboarder and DEM, so I'm not gonna repeat what they said. I think, however, that by the time we reach junior year (that's the point I'm at now) and college hype has been sky-rocketing, we learn a lot more about people that we thought we knew - some of which is not too pleasant. Add to that raging hormones, and pressure coming from every direction possible - I'd say there's a case somewhere for high school not being so hot anymore. I used to LOVE school, and it was kind of ridiculous (you guys are gonna fall out of your chair) because I would sit through my weekends waiting for Monday to come. And God forbid we had a three day weekend! Now, I wouldn't say I HATE school, but it has definitely been neutralized a little more... and I am very in love with my weekends and time off. Lol.

hey guys, i got reprimanded for wearing. SAD FACE

haha well, from my perspective.. i dislike highschool strongly. maybe its cus i go to a suburbial wasteland of a highschool, where the people i see everyday are so competitive i think they would eat each other's heads off. and then the rest of the general populace that i dont see in classes just smoke pot and drink away (albeit, thats kind of fun sometimes) but still.. it gets a little redundant. its not really that i hate highschool, i get bored with it. bored with the same old people, the clicky girls, the AE prepster guys, the FUBU hyped out crew, the stereotypical labels just everything... (speaking of which, i wonder what im stereotyped as)

sigh which is why i "hate" highschool, its more i just get sick of tests, quizzes, homework, and annoying people. and thats why i skipped school today (the first day i skipped since.. oh gosh, frosh year i think???) and thats why im on this website, to talk about college. i really hope it's what we all make it out to be, cus if not, well that's just sad.
