Why does everyone on here hate high school?

I don't hate high school. I don't like a good chunk of the people I know, but it's usually mutual there anyways(it's all good.) I also don't know most of the people at my high school and most of them don't know me, which is okie-dokie as long as I don't want to be ASB prez. I have my friends and my friends have me and the world goes round and I wake up everyday wondering what's going to happen next. I actually like high school.

deus, purple and gold isn't that bad in my opinion. We are gonna be wearing red gowns, with black and silver detail. Those colors are depressing.

LOL You guys hate high school because its considered cliquish....just wait till college, people are bound together like Iron.

lol, okay, tell ya what hibiscusboarder. i'll trade you my cap and gown for yours. red black and silver seems classier to me. :D

where do you go to college appliedmath

i love highschool!! this year has truly like been the best out of many good years, but im also psyched for college because... no parents! yeah haha, i dont think people here really hate high school as much as they are just looking forward to the future. i think thats a nice way of putting it. its probably more like, they hate their grade and dream of ways of bringing the student body to a 'carrie' like end. lol.

my hs is not competitive at all. in fact, I spend a lot of time chillin'.

I just hate the people. call me antisocial, but being forced to spend seven boring hours with the same damn people makes me want to slit my wrists with rusty nail. stupid mandatory assemblies are the instruments of the devil. the constant attempts at school spirit are sad and should stop. if you don't want to be at school they shouldn't rub it in for you - you'll just hate it more. in fact, if you don't want to be at school they shouldn't force you at all. (provided you're old enough to drop out, age 16 I'd say) some dumb girl cut school and got killed, so washington state has this law named after her and if you rack up enough absences they get the courts involved. I don't think I'm going to die if I cut advisory so I can go home to watch a DVD.

shuttling from class to class for hours is kinda soul sucking. I'd get home exhausted even though I didn't do anything physical. plus I hate getting up at 6.

thats kinda depressing.

I don't go, my brother goes to Princeton and tell me about it. He's part of cottage, and apparently it's more cliuqed out than Beverley Hills.

GOd get over ti high school is fun, if you make it ! If you join sports and clubs it's so much better, you become liberated from all your friends "cliques" if you will! You can talk to other people as well! go to concerts, movies, or atleast join sports to get out of the house! get over your self and have fun! yeah alos pay attention to your grades! be able to balance it all out ! ENjoy it

I dislike just a few aspects of my high school: lack of clubs/advisors to join/found, lack of enthusiasm, lack of subjects, lack of opportunities, bad facilities.

I used to hate it much more during my freshman and sophomore years. For freshman year, it was mostly because I didn't know what to expect and also because I wanted to drown my memory of graduating with an 3.83333 from junior high. I hated the competition and was under constant pressure. It continued my sophomore year when I moved because I didn't know how smart my peers were and I had to make sure I was better than them. (Yuck.) I revolved my high school career around getting to an elite school.

So basically, it's the anticipation of what's next and perfectionism that makes me somewhat hate h.s.! (I have gotten better with the 'perfectionism' thing and I find posts by the parents here to be pretty comforting.)

Ah, yes, the Washington law about absences. The Becca Bill. It's in my high school's planner.
"The Becca Blil: Washington State Truancy Law...blah blahblah blah blah Students with 10 or more absences in a class(excused and unexcused) are subject to loss of credit in the class. Absences due to school activities or religious holiday do not count toward the 10 days. All other absences(excused an unexcused) count toward the 10-day limit. blah blah blah blah blah blah blah."

Hm, always wondered why it was called the Becca bill.

Ugh we just got a BS attendance policy too. It's so pointless...if I can get an A without going to class, I don't see why the hell I should be forced to go-if they REALLY want me there, they should make it hard enough so that I have to be there. For example, ENGLISH last year. I went once a week and got a 99 on the final...and we all know that one point was just my teacher trying to prove her point! :p

I like high school--um, I know I'm in the minority here, but I actually like my classes. However, I am something of a social outcast as I don't have a group of friends to hang out with. Thus, I have no chance to have a "normal" teenage social life or anything like it. Letting loose for me is watching a rerun of Gilmore Girls or something.
In college, I hope I'll be able to make a few good friends.

I love high school. Why do people hate it? Meh, I'm loving the awesome times before having those friggin hard classes at college!!

high school is boring. idk why, it just is. the same people over and over again, the same location, the same people who get on your nerves, the same comformists, posers, what-nots. they're all the same, I NEED VARIETY. school should be like a buffet line, with a variety of flavors and meats. Imagine eating sweet and sour pork everyday of your life, wouldn't you get sick of it? same thing applies to high school, except these people are forcing themselves down your throat whether you like it or not.

...
...

but then again, some friends you do want to keep.

leave me out, i dont i like high school, I used to hate it, now that I'm in the last term of my senior year I already miss it. I mean hs is everything....I see everything that I won't get to see in college.....(probably)

i actually will really miss high school when i graduate in may...i have made so many friends and have had so many great experiences from football games, prom, and homecoming, and so many other things. In college I will be separated frome everything I have ever really known, and it will take time to adjust, but (hopefully) college will be a great experience as well.

high school sucks dong and i am ready to get outta here and go to college. lol

^^^ I agree. I'm counting down the days until graduation. May 28th baby! So far away... But seriously... why does anyone actually LIKE high school? I'm more excited for college than anything. I went away over summer and dormed and took classes and I didn't miss anything about home. And I was gone for two months and before that the longest I'd ever been away from home was four days. So.... yeah, I guess everybody's different.
