of arrogance

Clearly, you haven't talked to very many Princeton students.

Go away, troll.

calling me a troll really, really, really, wounded me.

In an effort to avoid these insensitive remarks, I said "it seems"

all 5 of the people in the senior class one year ahead of me who are going to princeton in the fall seem to be over the top arrogant.

Just wanted to see if anyone else had a similar experience?

Simply put, nope.

No, I haven't had that experience at all. Every single Princetonian I have ever met (two of whom have alumnus status I didn't even know about) has been exceptionally friendly and down-to-earth.

muhahah oracle: go visit princeton yourself.

"It seems" to whom? Obviously it doesn't seem so to everyone, so it must simply seem so to you.

Oracle, I think it is quite arrogant and ignorant for you to assume and generalize that all Princetonians are arrogant. I have never heard the expression 'troll' before, but it certainly fits the attitude of your comments.

Of the kids in my Ds class going to Princeton, as opposed to other HYPS etc., I would say the Princeton kids were not arrogant at all per se. Actually, I have to admit I don't meet many arrogant teenagers. I meet a lot who are anxious and stressed and may act arrogant in defense. But few who are really arrogant. And among the Princeton kids, I'd say the stress level was if anything lower. Kind of like Princeton and Stanford kids are similar - a little lower key, and Harvard and Yale kids are similar - little more stress. But that is a very small anecdotal sample and I doubt it means anything:). Kind of like the OPs dataset....

I'm sorry... I didn't mean to offend anyone (quirkly, hello, frozen tears, tokyo)

Maybe the small group of 5 I know was just a few bad apples who spoiled the bunch for me.

No big:)...

This happens too often. You must keep in mind that when you are on an internet forum, people can construe a tone and attitude from your text that may not be necessarily what you intended. Try not to type aggressively. Anyway, its not a big deal, like alumother said.
