I've noticed people mentioning different curves in different monthes/years.

Oh no now am scared I'm going to get a harsh curve :(

So why do they do it?

I've noticed people mentioning different curves in different monthes/years.

Oh no now am scared I'm going to get a harsh curve :(

So why do they do it?

Okay am guessing the harder it is the more of a curve there is? And the easier the less of a curve?

that is a myth. the myth is that the curve is better in march

^ March curve wasn’t even mentioned.

Yes, hard test = good curve, easy test=bad curve.

All curves are decided by CB/ETS before they are ever distributed to students, so the performance of students on a test does not affect the curve.

Darn it, I should’ve took it in march :(.

The month makes no difference in the curve distribution - only the difficulty that ETS brands a given test with.

Last March’s CR curve was the harshest in history…
3 wrong was a 740.

It seems as though the curves only affect higher scores (ie. 10 wrong in math is about a 650 no matter what the curve is vs. a harsh curve resulting in -1 equaling a 770 one test date)

Ugh… Let’s hope that the curve isn’t too harsh this time around.
