Why Doesn't Anyone Reply To My "chance Threads"?

OMG, this is like the 4th time i put a "chance me" thread and didn't get EVEN ONE reply!!! im going to try one more time and hope someone may finally reply!

~ I am applying to all the UCs but the only school i want to go to is UCLA!!!! However chance me for UCLA, UCB, UCSD, and USC

**Before reading this, let me tell you that i am homeschooled through correspondence (independent study) my highschool's name is American School of Correspondence, Earn your high school diploma through distance education courses with the American School of Correspondence.

LETS BEGIN!
-Unweighted GPA: 3.85

-Weighted GPA: 4.0

-Difficulty of Courses:ummm... well some of the courses i took are geometry, algebra, algebra II, Intro to college chem, bio and A LOT of english classes just to name a few and i plan on taking all DIFFICULT courses my senior year

-Class Rank:I have NO clue... how do i find that out?

-AP/IB Courses:None, my highschool does NOT offer them =(

-College lvl courses: I took 2 college lvl courses at a community college, Intro to College Chem and Critical Reading and Composition

-SAT score: 2030 --> Math:740 Writing:700 C.R.:580
*I am probably going to take it again and aim for a 2100

-SAT II scores:didn't take them yet, but i am going to take Math lvl 2 and Chem and (knowing me) will proabably score in the 650-750 range

-E.C.: I volunteered at a hospital for like... 100 hours, and i went to a couple of "Feed the Poor" nights at soup kitchens (but i only have proof for the hospital hours not the homeless hours) and other things but everything else i can't prove *did all in Junior year

-emplyment:I worked for COLD STONE for like 200+ hours =D *all in junior year

-honors/awards?:sadly none, but remembered im correspondence (home) schooled

essays?:haven't done it yet, but i REALLY want it to be very good!!!

additional information:I would also like to add that i AM a California resident but i won't be considered one because i go to highschool in Illinois (a Berkeley and UCLA admission officer told me that), so consider me "out of state"... What else? hmm... im an Algerian/muslim (if that matters) Oh and btw, i am a Junior (going to start applying in 6 months)

END

OK so please tell me my chances at getting accepted to UCLA (as well as the others listed above)

`if you want me to add anything more or have any questions please ask them!

thank you for reading i REALLY appreciate it and i can't wait to read your reply! =)

i think you don't get a lot of "chance replies" because the uc's are in cali.. and not many people knows about the admissions there.. ur GPA is out of 5 right? cause it's a lil low... besides that u have a good chance.. but it's hard cause the UC's are extremeley random...

I would be happy to help you, but as saturn said, I really don't know that much about admission at the UCs, or about correspondence school, which may be viewed slightly differently than regular school--I don't know. Many people may not have replied because they don't know enough in order to do so or aren't sure how good your chances are in your situation.

Also, I would double check about the whole not counting as in-state thing. That doesn't sound right. If your parents live in CA and they are your legal guardians, I think you still count as in state. I would email admissions at a UC and double check. It's possible that they misunderstood your situation (it's also possible that I misunderstood). Also, if you're in correspondence school, does that just mean that your school is based in IL but you are doing schoolwork in CA? Because if that's the case then I would think you would certainly be considered a resident. So I would try to verify that information. Make sure you explain your situation clearly.

In terms of advice--work on your Critical Reading! You'll do much better if you can get your CR up (and keep your other ones up, since UCs don't superscore).

Also, make sure you continue to be involved in your community. Find an activity or community service that you really enjoy. Colleges like to see that you are well-rounded. They'll understand that you don't have access to many of the clubs/activities that most HS students have, but they'll still like to see that you are involved in other activities--and enjoying them!

saturnVroketo and poetrygirl, UCs are relatively predictable in terms of college admissions and the system is possibly the most well known in US.

UCLA (OOS) - reach
UC Berkeley (OOS) - reach
USC - slight reach
UCSD (OOS) - high match

Your CR scores are low. Try to get that up to 650+. Your UW gpa is pretty good, but the fact that you didn't take any UC approved honors classes is not at all good (I know your school doesn't offer them so its not your fault). You should try to take as many community college courses as you can since those are given the extra gpa weight. Students who get admitted to UCLA/Berkeley usually (more than 90% of them) have weighted gpa of over 4.0.
