Why doesn't Haas allow Berkeley students to reapply?

So I emailed a Haas adviser about how many times a student can apply to Haas if rejected the first time. I was told that "Berkeley students can only apply once. If denied, transfer students can reapply."

I emailed him back asking why but he hasn't responded to me yet.

Does anyone on CC know why Haas only allows Berkeley students to apply once? I know they allow appeals (I don't know how successful appeals are though), but I'm curious as to know why Berkeley students can't try again next year. I'd rather stay for a 5th year or an additional semester if it means I get to pursue the Business degree that I want to pursue.

Thoughts? Thanks.

^ My theory is that they wouldn’t want the students be delayed from graduating on time.

Because a lot of students would reapply and they can only take so many people.

The reason is quite obvious: the gpa of your pre-haas core courses and the impressiveness of your ECs and essays cannot be undone.
