Why doesn't Rice have a "Rice Class of 2013" thread like all the other schools?

I'm referring to this CC Rice board... I realize there is a Rice Class of 2013 on facebook

Wash U and CalTech don’t either. Can’t be due to the # of posts/activity because Emory, Vanderbilt, and Notre Dame have less than us, but still have a 2013 board.

We’re too awesome for one I guess. Or not ‘prestigious’ enough.

I think it is because of the size of the student population, they are smaller than universities like Duke, JHU and UM. I’m not sure

ha those schools can suck it
they offered crappy financial aid
i turned them all down for rice

We have a subforum with fairly little traffic as it is, what exactly would the point of a class specific thread be?

We don’t need one on CC… that’s what the Facebook group is for!

Anyway, no one really posts on those “2013” or “2012” threads, they all post them in the general threads area.

@amdn: Haha I turned a lot of these other schools as well, specifically Duke, Emory, WashU, and Northwestern, because of their crappy financial aid as well  Yay Rice!

i think its summed up above and the general sentiment is Yay Rice!

what do you post in such a thread anyways??

“what do you post in such a thread anyways??”

I think the intention of the CC administrators are so that the accepted people can have their “own” forum only to the accepted people. Unfortunately other people have bombarded those threads with chance threads and other questions that are posted by people not accepted yet.

ah… but Rice has its own forum right?

we should have a CHANCES subforum… so if you dont want to see chance threads, you dont have to

Those “Class of 20xx” threads are always started by students, anyway, right? Slik Nik–why not start one and see what kind of reponse you get?

^ Correct me if I’m wrong, but I think slik nik meant a separate sub-forum under the general Rice University forum.

Otherwise, creating a thread in the general Rice University forum is open to all users, actually.

@hotasice: Yes, I meant sub-forum.
