why? i heard ucsc has a Business Management Economics major but not a "real" busines with accounting ,marketing, etc. how is the ucsc different from programs at like sdsu and sjsu? by the way im talkin about undergrad business major. thanks!

well...why does life exist? they just don't have business.

Which UC's DO have business?

berkeley and riverside have undergrad business.

all the other UC's just have economics or a hybrid business-economics (which is basically economics with some business courses).

the reason why the UC's choose it this way is because they deem business to not be as academic of a major as economics, or so i've been told.

same reason... why doesn't harvard or stanford have undergrad business?

Do something else undergrad. If you want, after a work experience, go to graduate business school.

Which is why I ended up at San Diego State and found all my friends who majored in Finance or Financial Services scored great jobs right out of college (but of course IN california, if for some odd reason you'd want to leave California, it might be harder to find such great jobs). It pays to be realistic and not solely base your school choice on the "US news rankings".
