Why don't girls ever approach guys?

This is less offensive than the man who thinks that his girl should shut up and get back to the kitchen… now?

That seems on target. I wonder if this friend’s name is “Jane Austen”.

Speaking of Jane Austen, I just saw a book called “Pride & Prejudice & Zombies” in a book store. That could be a great book. I think I may buy it.

^Don’t forget about “Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter.”

No. She is one of my close friends.

Perhaps of interest:

I truly hope she doesn’t go to an all-girls college.

Oh, and again, how does she use the bathroom? Because I’m pretty sure if any female waited for a guy to open a door then we would end up having a puddle underneath us. And then we would still have to wait for a guy to open the door so that we could shower.

If this is true- how the hell does she ever get anywhere on time?

Obviously, if there is no one around (i.e. in the bathroom), she will not wait for a non-existent male to open the door.

Oh, you were serious. And you don’t really look like a ■■■■■ either.

So she just stands in front of a door looking helpless until a guy opens the door for her? I really don’t get that, but I suppose it is her business.

Perhaps people assume she is illiterate and cannot read the “Pull” or “Push” printed on the door  It must get awfully tiring playing the helpless infant all the time. I wonder if she deigns to seat herself or insists on someone pulling the chair back for her? I wonder if she picks things up after dropping them, or waits for a handsome gentlemen to stroll on by? It must suck if she drops something awfully important and no one comes by quickly enough.

Sounds more helpless than a stuffed [pink whale stuck in the grass!](http://farm4.static.■■■■■■■■■■/3255/2837721005_1c0a4f241f.jpg?v=0)

You are all misreading her. She does not wait helplessly, she waits expectantly.

Ah. Out of curiosity, what does she do if none of the guys open the door for her?

^Out of curiosity, what’s her reaction when a male just casually strolls by her and only opens the door for himself, completely disregarding her presence?

edit: wow, someone beat me to the punch with the same question.

Woah! We both even said “Out of curiosity, what”

Lol. I noticed that as well.

LOL.

It’s not really an issue since someone always does, unless for whatever reason (e.g. she’s in front of a large group that is moving quickly toward something) she opens it herself. And then, she generally doesn’t hold it for other people, because it’s not her job.

My, how modern of her. She must be one of those radical feminist liberal types - possibly a womyn’s studies major.

Quite right; it’s their job to hold if for her - that’s why other people exist, after all.

Seriously, you should marry this chick. It’ll be weird though when you go grocery shopping, and she insists you carry the grocery bags from the car to the kitchen, and then gets upset because you can’t quite get the door for her at the same time…

^ LOLOLOL

10char

Out of curiosity, what does she do when there are nearby males and the possibility of one opening the door for her, but she is in a dangerous slum or ghetto, and the faster she gets inside, the better. What does she do then?

Also, what if someone has her at gunpoint, say during a bank robbery or mugging, and tells her to open the door. Does she demand that they open it for her?

She waits expectantly for said mugger to behave like a gentleman and open the door that he just commanded her to open.

Nah, this character probably would behave like a normal person in that kind of situation; obeying gender norms from Regency England isn’t worth getting hurt or killed over.

It’s not her job…?

It’s not our job either, she is just as capable of holding a door and opening as a male would be.

Now saying that, I do often open the door and hold it open for anyone out of courtesy and would expect the same from anyone else, male or female. A woman has no more right to having a door held open for her than any man does, nor is a man anymore responsible for door opening than a woman is.
