Why don't SAT sections range from 0 to 600?

<p>I've always wondered this. Is there a mathematical reason why the section scores range from 200 to 800? A range of 0 to 600 would be more intuitive, at least in my opinion.</p>

<p>^Because it makes little sense to start at 200. The lowest score should be a 0.</p>

<p>Agreed. It would be more like the CST’s which has a good range in my opinion.</p>
