Why Emory?

Hey there. I only recently heard about Emory through a friend, and on a whim decided to add it to my list. Upon further research, it grew more and more interesting and is now at the top of the list, but the problem is that my story won't make for that great of a "Why Emory" essay. It's pretty easy to throw facts from the website into the response, sure, but seeing as it's become a top choice, I'd love to know what sets it apart. Something quirky, funny, anything I can't find on the website. Would any students, past or present, be willing to help me out?
Thank you! :)

I was going to tell you to apply regular decision, and thus make a visit before you apply, but I realize that the app. is due on Jan. 15ish, and I’m pretty certain that Spring semester will be just starting up, so that’ll be a bit late for a tour that will influence your essay.

Right, touring is pretty hopeless at this point hah. I’m not going to lie to them or anything, but if I can get the inside scoop and show that I’ve taken an interest in the school that extends further than reading their website, then I have something to write about.
Do you remember how you answered the ‘why Emory’ question?

You can still visit and not take an official tour. Also, Emory really cares about your interest in the school. Make sure to contact your admission counselor, students, alumns, anyone related to the school. What do you want to study in college? Research their departmental site or email the chair of the department. Good luck.

Thank you, will do :)
