what kind of person would succeed and enjoy engineering? as much as i try to research, i can't decide if this is something that would interest me.

is it just four years of calculus, diagrams and sketching, ugly numbers and designs?

It depends on what kind of engineer you want to be, but here are the basics:

You need to like solving problems.

You need to approach problems logically.

Be prepared for 60-80 hour weeks during deadlines.

Sadly, the money isnt as good as it used to be, especially in computer engineering/programming. So money cant be your main motivation.

Engineering, in my eyes, is the application of mathematics and science to solve real world problems.

It is more than just a lot of math and physics--it is a special training that allows you to approach a problem and logically solve it.

If you enjoy problem solving, math, physics, science, took apart things or just wondered how things work, engineering might be for you.

Try it out in college and if you don't like it, switch to something else.
