I now know why girls do better than boys in school. Hope you guys agree.

Guys are easily bored. Women are easily offended. Very little is offensive, but a whole lot of it is boring.

Simple, I know.

Simple, I know.

I'm easily bored and rarely offended but always do well...I win ;)

^Me too, and I'm a girl. Sorry, I don't think your theory holds water.

As much as I'd love to believe your theory, it would imply that, well, we guys can actually understand just how girls' minds work. The truth is I've been working on that for quite a few years now and I've come to the conclusion (like many others have) that we'll never know, no matter what you try. If it was that simple somebody else would have figured it out by now.

edit: also i'm not easily bored

I'm a girl and easily bored but not easily offended. So what does that say?

We are smarter.

I do not know if that devalidates the "theory" or what.

(^_^)

women cant be smarter then men

They have smaller brains,

By your logic, that would imply that whales are the most intelligent creatures in the world, which is clearly an ignorant argument to make.

Heh, yeah, it takes a lot to offend me and very little to bore me.

I think the real answer lies in that girls are socialized to be patient (a trait generally useful in getting good grades), whereas boys are raised with the assumption that they are inherently more rambunctious (generally something that doesn't mesh well with schoolwork). People tend to fulfill the implicit expectations others send for them-- girls get messages to be still and obedient and thus they act that way. Boys are thought to be mischievous and restless and so they are.

Be nice if we could all be a happy medium. :)

i always thought that it was because women are faced with the inevitable fact that they are confined to the kitchen and the bedroom for the rest of their lives post College, so they try to make the most of it.

....just kidding haha

The kitchen, the bedroom, and I think the laundry room should be added as well.

no, because their brains dont look like ours: http://www.doheth.co.uk/funny/misc/Male_Brain.gif

Well, it might INvalidate the theory. Or not.

haha saying devalidate just compeltely invalidated the argument of hte OP

I'm extremely easily bored (I can be in the middle of doing something I like and get bored), very very impatient, and only somewhat easily offended. And I'm a girl who has always done well in school. I really think it is just because we are smarter than boys...

***** envy?

pen-is envy? since college confidential decided to block my previous post

The size of the brain is not as important as the size relative to the body and the surface area. Women tend to have a more tightly grouped curving of intelligence, with fewer in the tails of the curve than men. However, there is no legitimate evidence that women have any deficiencies compared to men.

There are some interesting studies being done, however, that demonstrate that men and women have differing amounts of white and grey matter, which may affect how information is stored and processed.

hahahhaha this is bigger than finding the cure for cancer!

Be careful guys, keep up this line of talk and you could be kicked out of college! Right, Mr. Summers?
