Why go to college summer programs?

<p>What are the benefits of going to Harvard SSP or similar programs at Cornell, Stanford, Princeton, etc (besides the experience)? I'm trying to decide if I should do something along these lines next summer. </p>

<p>Also, how selective are these programs?</p>

<p>Just if you're interedted in the classes. None are very selective and they don't help you get into the college.</p>
