Why has not BAMA adopted "TUSK" as a Fight Song?

Watching a Fleetwood Mac Retrospective.

That song is HOT!!!

UA is very tradition oriented…not likely to adopt a pop song (even one from the 70s).

It would be a great number for the BAND.

Great call. Awesome song very well suited to a marching band.

Maybe because it features the USC marching band?

But when you think about it, don’t ALL songs feature a band? Ours could do it better!

MDB has been performing Tusk for a few years…

<a href=“Alabama MDB Playing Tusk in Pregame vs Ole Miss - YouTube”>Alabama MDB Playing Tusk in Pregame vs Ole Miss - YouTube;

YES!!! I KNEW it was a good idea!!!

HOT!

I’m assuming UA has been paying royalties for years for playing it during the pre-game shows.
That’s the USC band playing on the recording, and in the video, which was one of the first shown on MTV.
Here are some unverified bits of info about it: Tusk by Fleetwood Mac - Songfacts;

We agree that the USC connection makes Tusk a poor choice. Our DS is having a wonderful experience at Alabama, and we parents are very happy with his choice. But when the MDB plays Tusk, the USC connotations are hard on us, as we are both UCLA alums.

If UA was to choose a pop/rock song as its fight song, “Sweet Home Alabama” would be chosen long before “Tusk.”
