Why hasn't Cornell notify us yet about missing stuff?

Decision is coming out in less than 3 weeks and Cornell still hasn't notified me about my missing recommendation(although my app is being reviewed by admissions).

ya mine isnt even being reviewed by admissions........

and no notice either.

well you're better off than I am... I'm still missing my transcript, secondary report, and both my teacher recs :(

It makes no sense. I am missing a rec, but they still have not emailed me. How could they at the same time know I am not missing something but also not check off that I have everything?

Their system is making me sooooooo nervous. I wish we could send our stuff directly to the school we apply to rather than us sending everything to one place. I can only imagine the mess they have now.

has ANYBODY been notified of missing materials??? I certainly haven't :-(

yeah...I have a terrible feeling this is killing my chances. All the kids who were lucky enough to have their stuff organized on time by the admissions staff are now being reviewed and accepted, while people like us wait for them to find something we know we sent in while the spots fill up.

yeah i still have my transcript and secondary report missing.
=\
when can they possibly start notifying about missing stuff? i mean decisions come out december 15th. that doesnt exactly leave much time.

Everyone breathe in and out....you don't want to hyperventilate until you get your decisions. =)

I would just call in and find out what's happening.

Yeah, I mean lets say they are missing a recommendation. That means that one of our teachers forgot to write our recommendation (most likely). If this is the case we have very little time to get in touch with this teacher, have them write a decent recommendation and then mail it in still with time for the it to be reviewed. The worst part is that they refuse to tell us which teacher rec they do have, so, in the scenario that one is lost in the mail then I do not know what I will do. I guess just send BOTH again. Then again, if a teacher forgot I bet he or she would feel guilty and write a helluva recommendation.

thekristin1129 i'm in the same boat as you. however, i'm international though so bah, i guess mail takes longer?

Well I only live 250 miles away. I don't think it takes a month to get mail from CT to NY.

why don't you ask the admin offfice? i'm sure if you call/email them, they'd tell you what you're missing

I've been missing 1 recommendation letter for a few weeks now. I was hoping it would get in by now, but it hasn't. Both my teachers have told me they sent it in, so I'm not sure what happened.

Should I email/call them? If so, anyone know the email/numbers we should use to call them?

1-607-255-5241, press number 8 and you will be transfered

ok people. I called today (monday). According to the lady, I'm missing 1 teacher rec even tho the online thing says im missing both. She told me to check everyday this week and if by friday im still missing the 2nd rec, CALL. because cornell won't be e-mailing anymore this year, due to the fact that its so close to decision date.

Thats what i heard, more than willing to hear someone call again and confirm this.

wait, so they're not contacting us if we have missing stuff?!? wtheck.

Called today. The lady claimed that I had everything, even though the website says differently.

I'm sure everyone's stuff is all there, they're just taking an eternity to process everything. For example: all of my reccommendations and forms were mailed on the same day. They were processed 3 weeks ago at BC, today at Fairfield, and Cornell hasn't processed them yet. I'm sure everyone's materials arrived there fine, it'll come up on the website any day now...

Thanks for the number, cadabra.

But they're only open from 8 A.M to 4:30 P.M. So I am calling them tomorrow.

Seems that this has happened to a lot of people. My friend is making his teachers resend his apps. I'm probably going to do the same, just to be safe.
