Why have I not been contacted for interviews?

Hey, I applied to a couple of schools early December - Brown, Yale, Tufts, Smith, John Hopkins...

My friend, who applied to the same schools (Tufts, etc), and who applied later than I did already had all her interviews. I haven't gotten any phone calls or emails about the interviews. I know Brown strictly calls you. Is is because I miss the phone call? What about my other schools? Do you think I should call the place just to ask?

Thank you!

Well, I also applied to Yale and Johns Hopkins. I just heard from Yale yesterday. Someone called my house, so I’m sure you’ll get a call/email soon. And I know that for Johns Hopkins you have to actually go onto the Johns Hopkins website and request an interview before January 22. I applied to Harvard in early December and a couple of my peers applied after me and got their interviews, while I still have not heard. However I have heard from other CCers that for many colleges, the number of applicants have increased by as much as 35% over the past four years, so a lot of them are still finding alum to conduct the interviews to accomodate for all these applicants. So just be patient and I wouldn’t start worrying until February or even early March, at which point perhaps you might want to contact the school.

For Smith you have to request an interview.
