According to the application status on usf's website, my high school transcripts were received on january 13 and my sat scores were received on january 6...is there a reason why I haven't been notified yet? I have no missing credentials according to the site...I'm from New Jersey if that helps any (probably doesn't)

Wow, that’s definitely an anomaly, call the Undergrad admission office at 813-974-3350 and check. Financial aid packages are already finalized, admissions should definitely be done by now.

I’m having a similar problem, except I’m a transfer student :/

Yeah, phone admissions and ask for an update on your status and to check if they need anything else from you. Make sure you have a backup plan in place too just in case. Good luck!

@eagleskyline- same thing happened to me. I didn’t hear back from usf for almost 3 months. Oasis kept telling me I had missing documents, and when I called they told me to ignore oasis because they already received my “missing” documents. I kept getting emails saying that I have missing documents and that my application will be dismissed if I don’t act quickly…I called admissions about 5 more times and each time they assured me they had all the documents and to just ignoree the emails. Finally a few days ago I was emailed saying that they had reached transfer capacity and basically that they couldn’t make a decision for me because my application was never completed in time. *sigh. I’m very dissapointed at the disorganization. I’m not going to call and make a big deal out of this because USF was my back up school and I got into my first choice (UF), but still…not cool.

@PrettyPeridot : So they have already reached transfer capacity, which means they aren’t taking anymore transfers? My problem was that I applied in January and they wanted my final transcript, but I couldn’t give it to them until the semester ended and it just ended so all that waiting was for nothing?

This is not good where it seems we all have been waiting for along time and there is no communication from USF regarding our application status and it keeps us calling them over and over on an update. All we hear is many excuses from them and tell us to wait. I have not heard anything from them about they have reach transfer capacity. This is very interesting and a puzzle. My backup is UF and would be probably a better choice since USF is horrible on communication and approvals. I am a combat veteran and transfer student seeking a second bachelor’s degree.

I just called USF regarding my application where it should come to a decision this week. They said it normally takes 8 weeks from the last day of your last transcript received. As for above stating, “Finally a few days ago I was emailed saying that they had reached transfer capacity and basically that they couldn’t make a decision for me because my application was never completed in time.” This is only pertains to the Summer Term where the Fall Term is still open. Good luck everyone!

@KristopherRod -I applied for the summer term so I guess mcmovmp3 is right, and they’re still making decisions for the fall.

@mcmovmp3 - yeah the admissions people told me it takes 6-8 weeks to hear back after they have received anything. Funny thing is I applied Feb 6, they had all my transcripts/documents by Feb 10th, and I just “heard back” a few days ago. I actually heard back from UF first and I had applied to USF first. Very weird.

mcmovmp3, sorry to hear USF has been dilatory getting you an admission decision. 2nd bachelor’s degree applicants probably are in line behind 1st degree seekers with USF admissions. Make sure you take full advantage of the advisors at USF’s Veterans Service Office; make sure to get them involved as much as possible helping you with your admissions processing. Good Luck!

@lizard, thanks for the advice and will keep it mind. They said I should hear something back this week nor later than end of next week. We will see on the outcome.

Wait, so it takes eight weeks from when you submit your final transcript or your partial one?
It’s been almost 15 weeks since I submitted my partial transcript.
Either way I’m probably staying at UF regardless.

@eagleskyline - the date starts when they received the last official transcript from you. As for partial transcripts, it may be difficult for them where you might want to give them a call since it have been over 15 weeks. Good luck!

Well I can’t send my final until grades for this semester are released, which is in the middle of May.
Again, probably gonna just stay at UF.

I have not yet heard back which my transcripts were received end of Feb 2012. I call again today which is about the 4th or 5th call and more excuses and confusion with the school. Now they told me to speak someome else in a different dept.

The way USF admission process is horrible and takes forever with excuses. I am now pushing for UF which have not had any problems or excuses.

Update: I was transfer and spoke to another person that deals with transfer admissions at USF. He is not aware why my application was never process and might have been pass on accident when the summer term began. He is currently walking my application over to the department to process ASAP for next week. Hope to get some good news for all of this trouble and wait with them. Wish me luck!

Hi i’ve been lurking for a while and just decided to register today. I applied back in mid-January as an upper level transfer. since all my transcripts, information, and fee’s have been recieved i haven’t had any updates to my Oasis. i decided to call the Admins office to try and get some indication on how much longer my application process would take and the guy told me that because i have a partial transcript that a decision wouldn’t be made on my application until they recieved my final transcripts. i explained that i’m currently taking courses to complete my AS-Transfer plan and that i had already sent in updated transcripts on the 2nd of May which they have posted as recieved. He told me that they would make a decision to my acceptance at the end of this summer for the fall semester. This is insane how is it possible to wait until a few weeks before the start of a semester to accept students. I have a friend who just got his acceptance as an upper level transfer to USF in the same department i’m applying to. His acceptance however is provisional to him passing his summer classes. This is what i expect/expected to be the case for me if i get accepted. Honestly i think the gentleman who helped me on the phone quoted me some general explainations rather than looking into my application personally. he did put me on hold for 5 minutes so i expected to get more helpful information.

End Rant i guess i had to make my first post count. :)

@eagleskyline May I ask why you want to leave UF? I apply at UF as a backup which waiting back from them as well.

I don’t wish to leave anymore but it was because I thought it’d be cheaper for me to go to USF, when in reality it’d be cheaper for me to just stay at UF
